Top Car Wash Award Winner 2009

Owned by Ocean and Joy Pierson, full-service Majestik Auto Spa in Chesapeake, VA, opened in September 2007. The wash features a full detail shop that services everything from large boats, trailers, and multi-million dollar motor homes to custom motorcycles, and even race cars; and also offers minor interior and exterior auto body repairs. The upscale lobby includes leather chairs, a flat screen TV, free hot beverages, and complimentary wi-fi.

"We focus on 100% customer satisfaction and go over the top to achieve that," stated Mr. Pierson. "All rims are to be done perfectly, as well as all windows, along with a perfect vacuum job. It may take a few minutes more for these services to be done, but we are known all over for doing the best job in the area."

HOWCO assisted the Piersons in creating Majestik Auto Spa, which features a Hanna 100' conveyor and 80' tunnel, along with a DRB point-of-sale system with touch-screen terminals, including a portable model for greeting customers. Wash stats are sent directly to the owners' phones. The site also includes a 15-camera video surveillance system that can be viewed remotely.

With a total of 35 employees, the hands-on-owners are on site every day working with their managers and crew. They rely mainly on word-of-mouth promotion, spending only $500 every quarter on print advertising, and were recently awarded the "Best of Chesapeake Automobile Details and Clean-up Service" from the U.S. Local Business Association. As they prepare to celebrate Majestik's second anniversary, the Pierson's are gratified that their business grew over 30% the first year and continues to build despite the struggling economy.

"First of all, thank you. It is an honor to receive this award. Almost 5 years ago, my wife Joy and I were at the San Antonio Carwash show deciding if we wanted to build a carwash. We met up with a guy whom I spoke with on the phone just once to help educate us on carwashing. Little did I know we would be his first customer; wet behind the ears in the equipment side, but coming in from chemical sales.

We are here today in part to his helping and guiding us along the way. Little did we know he was studying up and teaching us along the way. We want to thank and applause Robby Jones from HOWCO.

Robby, along with his team, Danny McRorie and equipment technician David Warren, made the experience working with HOWCO exceptional.

Two years ago we opened our doors and have grown ever since. I want to most of all thank my beautiful wife of 16 years. She is the brainpower and support of our company. She is the best. Thank you to everyone and thank you for the award."
